Roncevalles to Zubiri

We'd have to say that today was easier than yesterday, but not a whole lot.  Distance was shorter but lots of steep - sometimes very steep - ascents and especially descents.  The latter are very hard on the feet!

We left at 8 in the morning and realized from the sign below that we were almost at our final destination - not!!

Much of today's walk followed an assortment of forest trails, very beautiful...

There was some "wild life" along the way as well.....

And of course there were some villages to go through and see, and the pics below give you a sense too of the elevations we were at again today...

Wherever you go you look for the Camino way markers...

And if you're wondering whether or not we're having a good time, we are!!

Health wise there are some minor soreness issues that are to be expected when you don't walk these distances everyday, but overall we are feeling and are recovering quickly.  It's sometimes hard to tell yourself to rest, but a few minutes does you a world of good.

We are in a small and spartan pensione, and tomorrow we hit the big city of Pamplona.  Now it's time to hit the shower and then another pilgrim's meal.  Till tomorrow...

Today's distance: 22.1 kms
Total time on the road: 6:50:00
Total distance to date: 49.2 kms
Walking days remaining: 34
